A Bit About Mrs. Merz...

Welcome to a new school year! I am  happy you are part of our Park Panther team! I am the guidance counselor and look forward to teaching you friendship, social, and problem solving skills. Together we are PANTHER NATION!
I was born and raised in Omaha, NE. I have a degree in Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University, a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a masters degree in Elementary Counseling from Chadron State College.
My husband and I have been married for 28 years and have four children--Brandon, Matthew, Dylan, and Hannah. We also have two furry children (aka dogs)--Rey and Arya. Together we love to enjoy the lake, watch movies, ride bikes, and go hiking.
I taught 4th grade in Spartanburg, SC for five years. I was a stay-at-home mom for several years, and now have the wonderful opportunity to work as your school counselor. Together we will learn about the 8 Keys of Excellence: Integrity, Speak With Good Purpose, Balance, Commitment, Make the Most of Every Moment (This Is It), Ownership, Flexibility, and Learn From Mistakes (Failure Leads to Success).
IF WE HAVE TO TRANSITION TO REMOTE LEARNING, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY GOOGLE CLASSROOM!
